Raspberry PI 1200

Heya

Some time ago I replaced the shell and keyboard (from amigakit) on my trusty 1200. I was horrified by how i had treated it as a teenager and spruced her up with an accellerator blizz 1230  , CF card and various other trimmings.

I kept the old shell and keyboard (which is knackered). The old shell has a crack in the case just in front of where the space bar might be.

I've been thinking of getting a new keyboard and using the old shell as a fun case for a raspberry pi AROS setup.

So i have 3 questions.

1) does anyone know any cool tricks for repairing that crack in the case?

2) would i be better off buying a broken a1200 of ebay and using that - or would it be cheaper to get a shell of ebay (I dont really fancy having to retrobright though)

3) on the off chance does any one have any of the two items hanging around they might want to get rid of?

1) give us a pic of the crack, also melting and using plastic with acetone might work?

2) I would repair and use what I got.

Are you planning on using the Amiga 1200 keyboard? Then you will have to get your hands on a Keyrah http://www.vesalia.de/e_keyrahv2.htm

I actually got the location of the crack incorrect - (Its actually on the top half of the shell above the pcmcia hole)

There is a kind of plastic thread i weld with a soldering iron in cracks which works great (I have done it on motorbikes and cracked joysticks) , I have no clue what it's called in English tho, but I bet you could try some 2 part epoxy glue to fix that?

You could also use glasfiber spackle, there are many ways to mend broken plastic

Melted plastic from the bits I cut out of the upper part of the case when making space for the new keyboard and fiberglass putty ro smoothen the whole thing up.
