tandemcdinstall not working??
« on: July 16, 2012, 10:22:59 PM »
Hi ,
I have a problem with a A4000 desktop running OS3.5. It comprised 2 ide hd drives connected to motherboard and a cdrom drive and removable compact flash drive connected via cd tandem card. I had my (original) maxtor drive crash and had to remove it a rebuild sw on to the other (fujitsu) drive. I've manged to get everything else working apart from the cd rom drive. It is wired in to the tandem ide I/F and powered up (no change from before my hd problems).
When I run the tandem install program and use "find cd" if I "scan" the s/w it does not find the drive but if I manually select tandemat.device it finds and correctly identifies the drive. I then select "use", but when I run the install it stops and says it cannot find the cd device and I must use the "find cd" first and just keeps going around this loop.

Any ideas appreciated

Hi danbeaver,
thanx for your response. I managed to get the drive working after a long night and tracked the problem down to the name change I had done for my compact flash. Getting to old for this game I had named the two partitions as CD0 AND CD1.
