Hi folks,
I'm having problems trying to get AmiTCP working with IBrowse.
I was previously using Miami for my TCP/IP and things were working OK after a few weeks tweaking of Miami and Ibrowse! But I couldn't seem to SSL running under Miami and the docs seemed to suggest that it needed a correctly registered version of Miami, so I thought I would give AmiTCP a go.
What happens now is that I can start Amitcp using that run Amitcp:bin/startnet command which appears to make a connection via my Ethernet PCMCIA card (green light on I/F comes on) and port appears to go active on my router. I then start IBrowse but as soon as I try surfing I can see that IBrowse is use cached pages or I rx a "unable to open a bsdsocket library or compatible networking interface". If I then try to start Miami I rx a message indicating that a TCP/IP stack is already running. Also if I try to start Amiga Explorer instead of IBrowse (after running AmiTCP) it looks as if Explorer has detected a TCP/IP session i.e. it seems to using a bsdscoket library ...... but if I start AExplorer on my PC I rx and error message indicating some problem with the TCP/IP session. If I reboot and run Miami both Ibrowse and AExplorer work fine. I must admit I did find the setup of AmiTCP a bit difficult to follow particularly since most of the setting for IP, subnet and gateway are DHCP from my router, so it probably is something to do with the settings I have put in AmiTCP.
Also how do you stop AmiTCP, at the moment I just reboot?
Also can anyone explain why it is that when I start Ibrowse the colours associated with my WB icon names always change to some obscure colour combination?
Hope someone can make sense of this ramble.
Ian
