Another one...
« on: September 11, 2005, 02:28:10 PM »
Hi everybody !

So finally I decided to register to amiga.org !

2 words about me, well I'm a A1200 user since 1994, after hating the Amiga for 10 years, I ended with one
and totaly felt in love with her !

I like her OS, her exotic chipset... her personnality !!

I use my Amiga for drawing, experimenting with Aminet softs, for playing games and more...

Some say she's old, obsolete, useless... I don't care, come as you are I love you !!!

welcome to a.org what setup are you running on your 1200 then

My Ami is in the original "laptop" form, OS 3.0, 060@50 CPU, 64 MB RAM and a 512 MB Compact Flash
pluged in the IDE port via an IDE2CF 2"5 adaptor. It runs lighting fast !
An Archos CD-ROM x1 is connected to the PCMCIA.

That's all I need. The GFX is AGA only and the SND is Paula only !  :-) (And I insist on this !)

I absolutely don't want to expand my Ami to a tower case, GFX card, audio card etc. I'm an oldschool type of guy !;-)

I like Amigas for years now, and I think it's really weird you've turned to the comp just now, when almost extinction happened

No, my Amiga experience started 11 years ago, in 1994. I bought another Ami 5 years ago in the case the one I've been using for 11 years would break ! So one A1200 (an Escom one) is sleeping in a box until... well I hope it will never happen !

It is amazing that so many people are still passionate about this acient computer (I am too).

Well concerning myself, the Ami represents not only a computer but an era when computers were still fun, entertaining, original, and had a personnality (from 8 bits to 32 bits). The Ami is even more, she has a soul ! And yes Ami is totally addictive, despite her venerable age !  :-)
