Using 31khz modes with NEC Multisync II
« on: December 13, 2005, 08:22:43 AM »
Hi, I own a Nec Multisync II monitor and was wondering if I can use it with the higher resolutions on my A1200. According to http://www.monitorworld.com/Monitors/nec/multisyncii.html it seems to go up to 31khz. How can I use the 800x600 resolution and will it be flickerfree? I haven't dared to test myself because I am afraid I will fry the monitor.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

Edit: I also found this: http://www.nec-display-solutions.com/coremedia/download/74916/MSII-UsersGuide-german.pdf
but as my german is not that good I do not understand everything. The switches on the back seem not to do anything. Are they PC only?

Thanks for the replies. I don't have a scandoubler/flickerfixer but I copied a couple of 31khz monitors from the WB disks and got them to work, or at least sort of. The main concern is the wavelike distortion in the upper part of the screen on the pull-down menus. It seems like the screen is "rolling" like you roll a paper. It's hard to describe but I'll try to take some pictures later today. Another effect is a brown horisontal line on the right part of the screen
What could be causing these effects?
