Copenhagen
« on: May 31, 2004, 08:24:02 PM »
I've just been for a lovely weekend in Copenhagen.  It really is the prettiest city I've ever visited.  The buildings look great, I love the street cafess, the people are very friendly, and it's just a Nice City...

...but the price of everything is scandalous!!!!! :-o  Average price of a beer is DKR450 (UKP4.20), which is still almost 50% higher than the most expensive pub I know in Newcastle.  In fact, everything was very expensive.  But anyway, Tuborg tastes fantastic... I haven't seen it in Britain for ages now.  I might have to replace my avatar of New Zealand's yummy Tui lager with Tuborg's.

that sounds like club, restaurant or trendy café prices to me

Yeah.. I was thinking maybe we were stung by tourist prices.  Every pub, or even streetcafe (even the cafe in Churchillparken) all charged 45kr for a 0.5 litre (basically a pint in real measurements) glass of lager!  Perhaps there is a price-fixing cartel going on!
