I think you may be confused about the name of that Bodmin computer shop. It was actually called ACE Computers and was situated in St Nicholas Street, just up from the Post Office. It was owned by Adrian Emery and I looked after the shop for him at times (my name is Alan Bennett and now live in Cheltenham), and big hairy Nick helped out from time to time as well. We used to hold the Bodmin Amiga Users Klub (BAUK) meetings there every Friday night, and had a total of about 45 - 50 members over the time the club was in existance. The club was originally founded in about 1986 by a chap called Jack Talling, who is now retired and disabled, having had part of a leg amputated a few years ago. He can be seen hacking around Bodmin on his electric scooter.
The shop didn't "go under", as you put it. When Adrian closed the shop, the company was still solvent, not bust.

Adrian's Amiga 3000 was a one-off. He modded it to the AGA chipset. Quite amazing considering it was supposedly "impossible" to do :-o

My second post in two years? Nothing like being a regular, is there?

HMMM i bought some stuff from ACE a few years ago...

via mailorder/inet....is it the same shop??

Adrian did send a few bits through the post, but he wasn't actually doing mail order. I don't think he had a website at the time. The club had a webpage, and I think it is still up, but not maintained.
