If you can hear the drive clicking, then the 68000's certainly working well.
How does "ill sounding noises" sound anwyay? The A500 floppy *is* kinda noisy, especially under the command of some trackloaders.
I don't know if you're using a 1084 or what, but try connecting it to a TV (using an A520 or the composite output) to see if you can get a picture there.
The "ill" noises sound like the drive doesn't know what to do with the floppy. I suppose the drive needs a proper cleanup or something. I do have a replacement drive standing by. Still, you would expect to get at least the insert WB picture.
I've got an LG LCD monitor/tv with composite and scart inputs. It works with my A1200 and I've used it with a working A500. I've tried the b/w composite output. Don't have an A520 ATM.
