All,
Way back in the early days of Babylon 5, when video toasters were used for the show; Video Toasters were THE thing to have to do broadcast graphics and video editing. Fast forward to now-a-days; are Video Toasters for the A4000 worth getting or even using, since Mac's and even the crappy PC's, can do DVD, Video Editing and Broadcast level graphics fairly easy? If so, why? Thanks.

Wasn't Babylon 5 just an Amiga based Lightwave render farm? The video toaster was great for switching live video feeds to a single source iirc. If you want to do editing for a movie and then burn them to DVD you would probably find a Mac or PC setup more suited to your needs. If you need to switch live video feeds and have a news studio type switching set up then the Video Toaster may be up your alley.
By the way, they still make the video toaster but it is called
VT and is up to version 4. From the looks of the site it seems a bit pricy. Probably find a board and recorders for cheaper.
