Got a picture? I'm alittle hazzy on where the battery is. Not sure I'd be willing to drill them out. Metal filings in a computer case. Ack. Not matter how careful I was, I wouldn't feel safe doing it.
Remove as much of the case and framework as you can. You might not need to remove the motherboard to get at the battery.
