Tbh it depends in what adapter you got.
Is it 40 or 44 pins?
Male of Female?
Normal connector or Angled one?

Anyway...
The adapter has a small triangle on the PCB where the connector is. Triangle means Red wire or ribbbon (if any) and No1 pin in A1200's mobo IDE connector.
