I don't think that money is the only difference :)

As far as I know SSD drives are more hardcore when it comes to  limited reading/writing cycles that iirc all CF cards have. SSD drives have 100.000h work cycle.

I saw one guy (i think it was from a.org) that upgraded his 1200 BPPC with SSD drive and worked like a charm. Tbh I don't find a reason not to.
If someone can afforn SSD drive I think it would be a nice addition to his/hers beloved Amiga
