A500, then A1200 9 years ago

Haven't used an Amiga in 9 years. Started out in 1989 with a A500 w/1meg RAM. Then, sold the A500 and got a A1200 and put a 040@33mhz and 1.2gig HD. Sold the A1200 in 1996.

Am interested in getting an A1200 and putting one of those PPC boards in it. Only problem is finding a A1200 (hopefully in good condition). I've looked on Ebay but there are rarely any on there. Anywhere else that people sell them?

I've recently found a bunch of floppy disks with games and stuff. Any chance these disks still work? I even have that Spaceballs State of the Art demo, if it works.

The A1200s that Versalia sells, are they new or used, couldn't find any mention of that anywhere.

I'm in the U.S., so NTSC version would be preferable. I'm from Australia, that's where I had my old Amigas, so all the floppy disks I have (found Amiga OS 3.1 disks in with everything) are for the PAL Amiga. Would this stuff work (if the disks are still good) on a NTSC Amiga? Or would I be better off getting a PAL Amiga?

IMHO you'd be better off with a PAL Amiga anyway as long as you have an appropriate monitor such as a 1084S and don't need to output to a TV for anything.  I have an NTSC A1200 and spent most of my time running PALBoot or using Degrader to get all of the games to work.

BTW: The A1200s Vesila sells are new but have been in storage in India for years so their condition may be less-than-perfect.

I'll probably go with the NTSC version and use palboot. Will have to wait till I get one, maybe in a couple of months. Have to convince my wife about this purchase first. ;)

Want to get an A1200 and then put a 040 or 060 PPC board in it. Also a NIC, most likely a PCMCIA version, unless there is another way to hook up to my router(?).

In storage in India. Why, and how'd they find them?

What's the best way to get a NIC on a A1200 without putting it in a tower?

Also why were Vesila's A1200s stored in India, and howd they get a hold of them?
