Amiga Technologies 4000T RTG/AGA/Ethernet/DVD/040/25
« on: June 12, 2013, 04:27:52 PM »
I have posted one of my Amiga 4000T machines on Ebay if anyone is interested.  For right now, I'm limiting the sale to just North America due to the very heavy weight which would result in much higher shipping costs if I go international.  This may change later depending on the response to this auction.

The machine has a 4GB compact flash card as the main IDE harddrive, a DVD Writer, OS3.9 with Boing Bags 1 & 2, as well as the unofficial 3 and 4 installed.

Picasso96 with the GVP Spectrum 28/24 card for a nicer desktop experience
Hydra ethernet card for internet connectivity
16MB system RAM (maxed motherboard RAM)
A3640 68040/25Mhz rev 3.1
Syquest 125MB drive,
case lock key,
keyboard and Mouse, etc

It was fun to restore.  I got it from someone who had picked it up as part of a bundle of old hardware that was found in a dry warehouse in Florida.  It wasn't even working at the time.  I've upgraded it and gotten it back into working condition.

These machines are getting harder and harder to find as the years go on, so don't miss out!

The Buy-It-Now price was $849.99.  Maybe that was a bit low, in hindsight...

Anyway, to those who were interested, don't worry, it wasn't the only one I had, it was just the first one that was ready to be released back into the wild.

In the future, I'll try to make it so that more people don't get shut out so quickly.

Have fun.

Is that because of the passthrough or just the fact that it had an RTG card?

--------------
With the spectrum card you should have seen $1200 to $1400 for even a BIN!

Wow, apparently, someone got a very good deal from me today.

No worries though, it was a learning experience.

As I've alluded to in other posts, it wasn't the only one I had.  If/when I decide to let another one go, I may just post something a few days before hand to let those that might be interested that one is coming up so that more will have a chance to keep an eye out for it. I'll also not let it have a buy it now (or whatever depending on the format) so that anyone that wants will have a better chance to at least participate.

Working on this one was fun, but I'd forgotten how frustrating working with old hardware can be.

After seeing Apple's big event earlier this week, I can't help but wonder what the latest gen amiga would have been if Commodore hadn't screwed up so badly and all the lawsuits, etc.  That new Mac Pro should have been the new Amiga Pro...I digress.
