A CD32 is very similar to the A1200 but the main difference is that it uses the CD to load and play games. The games also have to be bootable. A lot of older games will be on floppy disk (the CD32 does not include a floppy drive) so might not be possible to load them ....

Correct, some older games may not work correctly either due to: CPU, Cache, Chipset, kickstart ver etc.
WHDLoad is pretty commonly used as well with templates available for existing games.
