That simptom is very likely a broken membrane. I never had a cd32 keypad, but you should be able to open it up and see the inside. Check the membrane. Maybe it's only dirt or dust that got inside and is causing the trouble. If the membrane is ok, then the ic on the pad is gone. Time to get a new one or another type of pad, such as sega megadrive six buttons, it's a great pad.
