Morphos Resolutions

I am a new morphos user using 3.1 on a minimac.I am loving the os its so good watching youtube on a fast amiga compatible OS!

I am struggling with the whole setting the resolution for the system.

I seem to only get 800 x 600 working when using the prefs menu.I have got 1024 x 768 working on this system with this monitor by holding the the control key when I launch the os. I just dont seem to be able to set it in the screens or monitors section on prefs.

 Everytime I set it and restart the screen produces a 1024 x768 desktop but I can only see 800 x 600 of it. I am sure I am missing something. I remember you can set the screen size like on the old amigas defining the corners and sides. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry but I have a few more questions

The only reason I was using 1024 x 768 was because its the highest one I have got working with morphos. I would love to go higher resolution if I can with this screen. Whats the general res that morphos users use?

I am using a hdtv/vga mointor tv thing
Its a goodmans LD1945WDW could not find it on the list and cannot find any reference to the khz online, do you think I will have to just try a few monitors on the list to see if they work with it?

Also when I select the monitor will the modes list update with new avaible modes or do I have to add new ones manually?

Thanks so much for you help guys I am now running in 1440 x 900 and its looking good. Would have been stuck on that problem for ages
