So you have an Amiga 3000 and its original box and you are going to hack it to pieces. The only possible outcome to this is one less Amiga. I really have no idea how or why you would try to convert a square'ish box into a luggable. Only the C128D 'plastic' and SX-64 were truly luggable from the days of Commodore.

Proper luggables were so heavy. As would the 3000.

So before you start butchering the 3000 spare a thought for all those in the world that would love the opportunity to own one. I am sure you could find way better cases to do this with.
