When you're on that screen (mouse pointer on black screen) just flip your A600GS upside down or sideways for some seconds, does it the recover and get into the A600GS welcome screen ?

I had the same problem and some wire of the WiFi Antenna had gone loose and has shortened out the USB Ports (I guess) ... moving it while in that screen made it recover from that and it would load ...
Oh, when I first received the A600GS, the system would not update until I found out that the antenna wire had unclipped itself from the board.  It was clipped back on, and then I was able to update.  The GS ran fine for several days, but then after a restart through the menu, I got the usual progress bar activity screen followed by a black screen with a red pointer.  I could not get back to the Welcome screen nor to the Game/Application screen.  Just the blackness and the red pointer.  I clicked blindly all over the black screen, but nothing came up.

Going to re-image the GS's SD card,

how re image sd card?
Remove microSD card from A600GS.
Put microSD card into SD card adapter.
Put adapter into a Windows computer.
Make sure you have an A600GS image sitting in the Windows computer.
Download and run Win32 Disk Imager from https://win32diskimager.org/
The Win32 Disk Imager should see the SD card automatically.
Add the image name to the image file requester of the Win32 Disk Imager.
Click on the Write button.  In about 2 minutes, you should have the image written to the SD.
Remove the SD card adapter, remove the microSD card, and reinsert the microSD card into the A600GS.
