Avalanche and Mayhem for the VIC-20 and PET
« on: December 03, 2012, 02:15:51 AM »
Revival Studios has released two new, commercial games - Avalanche and Mayhem.  Both games are for the unexpanded VIC-20 (NTSC and PAL versions available) and all 40-column and 80-column PET computers (except the PET 2001).  For the VIC-20, both games are available on cassette for 7.99 Euros each or digital download for 3.99 Euros each.  For the PET, both games are available on cassette for 7.99 Euros each or digital download for free.  You can order the games by sending an e-mail to sales(at)revival-studios.com   For more information, screenshots, and video, go to

          http://www.revival-studios.com/

               Demonstrating these games at
               SCCAN and FCUG meetings,

Yep, I bought a VIC because our headmaster got a PET 4016...

Heh, to try out the new games, I'm bringing a PET 4016 and PET 8032 to our next FCUG meeting (I'll have another member bring his VIC-20, because mine is acting flaky right now).  Those PETs weigh a ton.  :)

Without checking into really old PET newsletters and other magazines, I can't recall of any other commercial games being released for the PET.  It's just newsworthy to have new PET commercial releases.

Correct me if I'm wrong,

Well, EPYX (Automated Simulations) released a lot of commercial games for the PET back in early 1980s - Temple of APSHAI comes to mind.

Heh, the Wikipedia article for Temple of Apshai mentions nothing about the Commodore PET.  :)

But yeah, you're right... there were commercial games for PETs.  I just checked eBay and two PET games from Avalon are there - both simulations.
