The trouble with it is that the actual source of the sniping is to be found at the head of the companies involved, on all sides. If those people, who should show more responsibility, were to concern themselves solely with their own products and not comment on the products or fortunes of others, then the fanatical sections of the various camps would have less fuel and support for their flame and rumour wars.
Well, you can't really include AInc here - not for the last
year or so anyway. While Hyperion and Genesi heads have
had their share of flame instillment, the high heads of AInc
have pretty much kept out of the way (I'm sure some of
you will be quick to give a sarcastic reason for this, but as
far as I can see, whatever the reason, this
is currently
the case). Also, no matter what your opinion is of fleecy,
the content of his answers and of the bi-weekly Q&A in
general, you can at least not blame the man for posting
inflammable material concerning the competition in these
Q&As. Even direct questions about the competition (in
earlier Q&As) have been handled and answered in a
non-agressive way. Even if some of his other optimistic
predictions sometimes ring a little stale to me - in this
particular area, fleecy excells.
This wasn't always so, I know. But at least in the
flame-fest starting department AInc seem to have learned
their lesson.
Thinking about it, the senior Genesi staff also seem
to have cooled lately. Perhaps they've learned that
lesson as well, albeit late. Good on them, in that case.
