All you need to make the amiga2vga cable, aside from wire and connectors, is one TTL chip (various kinds will work) to buffer the sync signals.
If one was really lazy, one could forgoe the TTL chip and just leave the cable disconnected from the Amiga until after turning on the Amiga. (but no, not even I am that lazy)
