@ Piru
Thanks for your comments. but please explain. I too have seen no use for this chip that inspires me to jump for joy (sadly true for the SAM FPGA too). What I was asking however was more about what may be posible, not what's been done so far.
I see your point as to the system requiring a complete boot to use the XMOS but could this not be flashed from a ROM of some kind? Adding such a device to the XMOS seems to be a relativly easy enough task going by the XMOS website.
Why is Minimig (or something similar) such a blunt NO!? This is a very flexible chip, expandable with hardware etc...
Please don't misunderstand me, I'm not arguing with you just to be a pain, I'd like to know if custom chipset (eg. AGA) could be done on this chip but no one yet has given me a properly argued reason either way.
It (the XMOS) might be more interesting to current Amigans if Hyperion supplied some "out of the box" uses for it, such as programming it to aid in physics, graphics, sound etc.. Whatever reduces load on the rest of the system for whatever your doing at the time.
Well I'm not passing any opinions yet, just asking questions. The full spec. from Hyperion would help.... time will tell I guess.
