Sorry but that's ridiculous. Have you ever tried to get under the bonnet on a Mac? If you had, you would realise that it is entirely possible, even moreso than Amiga OS. Mac OS X is essentially BSD with a pretty face. But the guts of BSD is still there. You still have root access, so you can do whatever you want.
Maybe I should have worded that better. Try this: Getting under the bonnet of a Mac is not as much fun or as intuitive as an Amiga. The Mac gives you the tools but if I could be bothered to play with a Mac in this way I may as well use Linux.

That statement is contradictory. Mac OS X is more similar to Linux than it is to Amiga OS. Getting under the bonnet of Mac OS X is similar to getting under the bonnet in Linux.

Yes it is, but Linux is free. Therefore, I may as well use it in preference to Mac OS. Not contradictory at all, just economics.
