who is any company to tell anyone what they should do or want to enjoy?? what an odd thing to say!!!
No need to over-excite yourself. I believe he meant that he might represent the company in a quasi-official way, maybe with some level of support, which would require getting the OK and making other arrangements, not just to be there informally as a user. Of course no one is saying that Genesi or any company can tell people what to do or enjoy. There, that's not so odd, is it? ;-)
