End of the road for OctaMED :(

The current version of Octamed is just fine with me. It's perfect for making retro sounding 8bit mods and runs smooth even on an 020!. You can Midi sync it with your
PC or Mac to mix 24bit w/ 8bit samples to get a pretty cool effect. Its about the only reason that I still have an A4000 sitting here.

I really wish they would just open source it but, I don't think thats ever going to happen. Ray's probably still mad about all the pirated versions that got out so I dought he'll ever give up the code.

Obviously, open-sourcing has not even considered. Hsn't it? (I don't follow the OctaMED ML, so I don't know)

Yea, I do use lots of 16bit sample too but they do sound 8bit through the paula. as said earlier, Bitchrusher and effects like that sound great.

OctaMED can use 16-bit samples perfectly, they just sound 8-bit when played through Paula. If you mix the track to a CD (I mix to a MAUD file then use makeCD), they sound perfect.  

The real fun starts when you attach a MIDI sampler and some FX units.
