Not the same connector but it's the same signals.
23-pin D connectors were rare, expensive and overkill for RGBS. This is either a cost saving Or more likely a mistake.
I think they put on their schematics "15-pin D" to match VGA, not realising that VGA is "15-pin D-Sub".
From what I remember the fWSI video socket has a non standard pinout. (i.e. it's not the same as a MAC)
