I can guarantee you that exposure to X-Rays can erase EPROMS.
UV erasable EPROMS (the ones with the windows in them) are supposed to work by being erased with UV light.
The shorter the wavelength, the quicker they are erased. Also X-Rays will penetrate the stickers that are over the windows whereas UV will not.
Perhaps the fractions of a second that the X-RAYS are on for make no difference... but do you really want to chance it?
