New 68040 chips are priced between 150$ and 300$ on Digikey
Freescale dont want to sell anymore but they have committed to do so. So how do you get round it? You put the price so high that only military can afford them.
Shame I would have liked an MC68040RC40A L88M (about 1/3 the heat at almost 2x the speed of old Amiga XC68040RC25)
