vga monitors dont go down to 14.4 mhz

so i got another main board and that one didn`t boot

ok I've had a look around it and I can't see and VHOLD knob any where
AFAIK there is no vertical hold knob on 1084 monitors. On the back of the monitor there should be V.Size, V.Shift, V.Width knobs and in the front panel there is H.Shift. There was no need for V.Hold or H.Hold as they had a cool timing circuit which could handle all valid modes.
