Amiga.org is currently looking for an active moderator for the news and forum section. The JobThe most important thing to know about being an Amiga.org moderator is that most likely, you don't really want to be one. Being a moderator is not a glamorous position. It takes a great deal of hard work, and dedication. The overall amount of time a moderator spends on Amiga.org, he or she will be reading posts, editing posts (keeping things civilized) and scouting for news.
You will spend numerous long sessions of several hours moderating blatantly trivial disputes. You can't just tell them to go away, or to simply shut up. You have to stay civilized at all times.
A moderator is entitled to his or her opinion on any subject, but in the interest of keeping the view of this site balanced, we would prefer someone who isn't extreme in their opinions, who generally doesn't let arguments get personal, and can work professionally enough to not let their opinions get in the way of the role.
The PaymentThere is none ... Everyone at Amiga.org is helping out on a voluntary basis. You will however become a member of a great team of nice people and sometimes obtain information that is not ment to go public (yet).
How do i apply ?If the above text didn't scare you away ... you can send a mail to
kees@amiga.org and apply to the job. Explain why you want to help out and why you think you are the best man/woman for the job.
If you have any questions, you can post them in this thread or e-mail one of the staff members.
