Kyocera becomes the latest blue chip investor in Tao Group
« on: January 24, 2003, 09:17:46 PM »
Tao Group Limited today announced that it has received an investment from Kyocera Corporation, the Japanese blue chip technology corporation. Kyocera joins an impressive list of trade investors into Tao including Sony, Motorola, Mitsubishi, NEC and Sharp.

Francis Charig, Chairman and Chief Executive of Tao stated, "This is an
important strategic partner for Tao. Kyocera's thorough understanding of
the mobile space, from consumer to network, manufacturer to content
developer, makes it an invaluable addition to our investor roster. Our
relationship with Kyocera goes back several years now; it is our
intent(R) Universal Multimedia Platform that lies at the heart of
Kyocera's fabulous PocketCosmo PDA which was launched in the latter
stages of last year."

Yasuo Nishiguchi, President of Kyocera said, "We have been strongly
supporting Tao for a long time, both in terms of product and through the
Open Contents Platform Association. This investment was a natural step
forward in our relationship with Tao and indicates our strong belief in
Tao's future."
