Hi there sturulez!
I really doubt there's any fault with the scandoubler. Color distortion is a classic symptom of an ill fit. You really have to MASH on them to get a good fit. However, I would back up a step. Get some hi quality fast evaporating, non-filming tech spray and clean the socket and the Lisa pins before installation. I also recommend a real good visual and even possibly burnishing the socket pins and Lisa pins with an eraser that resembles a pencil (after you sharpen it to a fine tip). Then, like I mentioned, mash right down on the scandoubler (to the point that it feels like you might actually break something but not quit). This might take 3 or 4 tries till you get the colors to display correctly. And, believe it or not, the longer the scandoubler has been attached to the Lisa chip the more stable it gets. Good Luck!
