From iComp webpage ( https://icomp.de/shop-icomp/en/produkt-details/product/buddha-ide.html ) ......

Performance: Even with slow devices, transfer rates of 2.2 MBytes/second(*) can be achieved. The raw transfer rate is only limited by the Zorro-2 bus, which is 3.58 MBytes/second.(**)

(*): measured with the classic "Quantum Bigfoot" harddisk
(**): performance depends on installed accelerator. Maximum transfer rate can be reached with 68020 and 68030 CPUs.

So, I suppose if your accelerator is reaching max transfer speed, complementing the Buddha, you could reach a transfer speed of 3.58MB/sec on the ZII bus. I would think that there are a lot of factors (software, drivers, patches) in play here.

I haven't done any speed test comparisons yet but, last spring I did finally get a test A2000 unit freed up for just this type of testing along with a few different accelerators (P5, GVP, TF) and disk types (CF, DOM, TruIDE). I was ready to start testing explicitly on Buddha xfer speeds but the A.org migration came up and then summer kicked in. Maybe do a search here as there were some very good discussions about the new Buddha board last spring. Winter's coming though!

I also purchased IDE4 Zorro 2 board to compare. So this board is also an option.

Also purchased a Z500 ( http://www.robthenerd.com/projects/z500 ) to perform the same testing on an A500 but I was in search of an A500 keyboard (these have dried up completely) so guess I'll have to spring for one of Kipper2K's replacement keyboards ( http://amigaonthelake.com/blog/-preorder-today-new-replacement-keyboards-from-kipper2k-/ ).

Now I just gotta get off my arse and git-er-done & post up!  ;D
