NAR... Best Mac software to transfer VHS tape to DVD?
« on: June 02, 2007, 05:26:26 PM »
Hi all, I have an older Sony VHS-C analog type video camera and was wondering if anyone knows, or can recommend, the best type of MAC software to buy to transfer the taped video to dvd?... I would like the software to be digital capable too in case I buy a digital video camera someday. Sorry for asking here but I don't belong to any Mac forums 'cause the peeps are so biased! hahahaha. Thanks in advance!

OK, so I already have the software?! I have never used iMovie or iDVD.  :-?  I just opened up iMovie and it has something called "make a magic movie". Is that just simplified software to capture the audio and video from a source? The screen then says it can send the captured video and audio to iDVD for burning. That'll work no problem? Can iMovie let me edit all the video for things like transitions, menus, text on the video, special effects, etc.?

OK, the part I didn't think about was the hardware interface. I have an older Pinnacle package with a cable that has an analog input on one end and USB on the other end. The package was for a PC only. Can I just use that cable and the iMovie software to capture? That would be great!   :-D

Thanks for the replies!
