Commodore 2002 Monitor

Hello, can I use my Commodore 2002 monitor with my Amiga A500 computer, in a mode other than composite? Right now I am just using that video converter thingy and the composite output to the 2002 (doesn't look very good). I was reading that the 1084S and the 2002 were essentially the same monitor. Would I need a special cable (maybe I could build it)? Would any of you fine Amiga people have a scematic on how to build one if I need to do that? Thanks so much for your feedback. gizmo350
