So people... Been on and of since the Amiga days ended in 1995 for me... Been making a setup once in a while with E-UAE ... But it does not satisfy me anymore.

I want a real Amiga again.

What should I go for ?

I want to have it hooked up with my 42 Inch LED Flat Screen.... I want to draw some sprites in Deluxe Paint, for using with some coding in AMOS again ... Havent done that since 1995 and miss programming :-)

Should I buy an Amiga 600 HD ? Or a 1200 ... Or go totally retro and get me a 500+ ?

I want a HD in it ! ... And at least kickstart 2.0

What is the best buy ? Sorry for my poor english.

And by the way... Where is Motorolin ????
Have you rulled out a MiniMig... That is what I would use for AMOS/DeluxPaint/OctaMed work on a modern TV now... The advantages over the old commodore machines are too numerous to mention :)

I guess if you want to pay 3x the price for an ECS machine, with no case or keyboard as standard, then  minimig is the way to go ;)

An ECS machine won't interface properly with a modern TV, won't have as much RAM, will need adaptor to have an HD... And the ECS machine could die any moment. The ECS machine will need adaptor for a new Mouse/keyboard... Etc...

The OP doesn't need AGA as he is using AMOS :)

Seriously though, minimig is meant to be upgradable in the future isn't it? AGA etc. How far have they got with that?

That is the replay, apparently at A1200 level :)

The OP wants to program, and he does not want to use an emu. He says so in the first post.

@Bloodline

The Amiga is very PAL/NTSC compatible, why won't it interface with a modern PAL/NTSC tv? Iv'e had no probs so far. I recomended an A1200, but my point holds true- far cheaper. Both the A600 and A1200 feature IDE ports.

The MiniMig output is scan doubled and flicker fixed... My LCD TVs look horrible when running my A500 and A1200... Both via RGB (Scart) and the RF modulator...

He may not need AGA, but he may wish to use it in the future. Certainly more RAM will help with WHDload. And the speed will help with compile times.

AMOS isn't generally compiled ;) but the 68k on the MiniMig does run quite a bit faster than the A600.
