Separated at Birth... Tone007 & Eddie Izzard... :)

Tone & Eddie meet up for the first time... :)

Sorry Tone007... Couldn't resist that one... :roflmao:

(Gawd, how many budding musicians do we have here on amiga.org... :))
There are one or two of us who have had music careers :)

honestly I use AROS more than another other OS now... though 3.0 gets fired up from time to time to get stuff off my A1200's HD... and 1.3 is run a couple of times a year just to remind me of proper computing.

If that's really you in the pic, then you must have been in one of those 80's bands like The Human league, ABC, or Spandau Ballet, I'll wager... :)

(or perhaps the pics to throw us off the trail and your were in The Wurzels instead... :roflmao:)
That is me in the pic... and I fear you may be closer than you think ;)

Ere, Tone007, you seem to know quite a bit about macs, if I could pick your brain for a minute with a quick question... :)

What would be the best & quickest way to transfer my data from the G4 to the G5 when I get it, I was wondering if I could connect them up with a firewire cable and do it that way... :)

Cheers

Franko
With a Mac it is simple... Boot the G4 in Target mode (with a firewire between them), and when you boot the install disk (on the new machine) select to transfer the accounts across. I have a brand new MacBook here where the user accounts are over 4 years old and originally set up on my old 12" PowerBook and have been transferred this way 5 times now!!!

In all seriousness, though should really think about an intel mac... the PPC ones are really long in the tooth now.

Lol! My old band we had an album out on Universal Records a few years back... we were doing to sort of Electronic Rock music that was popular for a while... our stuff is still available via iTunes if not in your local HMV anymore :)

Well you're obviously a fan of The Cure...
Actually yeah :) Though I'm a synth guy, so I'm more Depeche Mode!

-Edit- my nickname is actually a clue!

I didn't bother to vote until there was an AROS option, since I use (or rather test) AROS far more than the other options :)

This is exactly what I would have done, under the same circumstances.
To be honest I had difficulty choosing between 1.3 and 3.0... I use both so infrequently now :(

looooooooooooool!!!! :)
Actually I'm surprised there are as many as three... Most AROS users are too busy using their systems to waste time voting in some stupid poll ;)

Ok, 3... that's Me, ClusterUK and someone else... Hmmm... :)

Being 100% tea-total, I can only say when you see the nasty effects that the Bucky has on some folk, the stuff should be banned... :(

I'm a heavy drinker... I have no idea what ¨bucky¨ is...

KennyR... Who he...
Even after he stopped posting... it still took me years to beat his post score!

IIRC he had a falling out with Wayne over (what Kenny claimed to be) untrue accusations of being a paid Genesi troll, so he just stopped posting here.

This was like 2003 or even earlier I think.
Holy crap... time has passed by much too quickly for my tastes... :(

How did you pay him Franko?
Hopefully, it was via some method you can request a charge back because it sounds like a scam.

Let us not jump to conclusions just yet!
