Network Audio

I'm not sure if this is a Hardware topic or a Software topic... so I'll stick it here...

Anyway, does anyone know of a good (ie one that works) Network Audio Driver?

I need to be able to redirect the audio output of one machine across my network to another machine... If I could send MIDI as well that would rock!!!

So who has tried to do the same then?

Well it doesn't have to be for the Amiga, I have plenty of machines here :-)

I had a look at VST System link, but that uses Digital Audio links. I have a computer network already set up, I don't want to add extra cables or lightpipes around the house.

I have plenty of MIDI interfaces and assorted hardware, my idea was to reduce the number of cables I have running across the floor in an dout of rooms when I am trying to work. Yes the MIDI is generally just used for Synchronising nowadays :-D

What would be nice is something like Propellerheads Rewire across the network.

It might not be the elegant solution that you were after but it does work. What exactly were you planning on doing with the redirected output?

Yeah, I use VNC all the time.. but AFAIK it does not pump Audio across the network.

MY plan is to have all the mahines in the house doing some of the audio work and it all being sent to one machine...

It's a mute point now, since I have a new laptop... but the geek in me still wants to do it.

This is computer netoworking over via the sound card over Audio cables.

I want to pump audio over a nework...
