It you are going via a phone line Broad band, then the Binatone ADSL2000 router modem is what you need.

The router modem plugs into the phone line and into your network hub. It will DHCP all the network settings for you and you get ADSL Broadband conection which will be shared aross the whole network.

You can pick one of these puppies up for around £50.
