Oirish :-)
You what?
Feel free to listen to Voices of A.org for inspiration :-)
Huh? Why is that not a valid response? A real, natural Irish accent (none of this fake stereotype, leprechaun - "Ye wouldn't be stealing me pot 'o gold" nonsense) is dead sexy.
I couldn't figure out what Oirish meant... Doh! I realised later (see the body parts thread for a break down of the accents thread results) and included it :-)
I would have to say Irish is one of my least favorite (I'm not keen on Italian and Spanish either... I find monotonic languages more pleasing), it sounds too much like a comedy voice :-D
Most European accents sound like the speakers have some sort of phlem problem. I don't get why people find them to sexy.
Oddly I agree, the Slavic accents are rather off putting... I expect you don't hear the difference, but German, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian all sound much nicer that Polish, Russian etc... to my ears :-)
I don't think it's just about pronunciation, it's also the form of the sentences, there are very specific structures in German (like separable prefixes for example) that give the sound of the language a very pleasant feel..
German accents are the least sexy of all (sorry Bloodline).
No need to apologise, this is a great discussion!
Again I'm not talking about about dodgy stereotypes, but real accents. I don't know if it varies greatly anywhere else, but in my personal experience, Berlin and Köln accents (which sound the same to me) are horrible - harsh pronunciation, yet whiney at the same time.
Well yes, Standard German and perhaps the Hamburg accents are very nice... but I find someone from Berlin very attractive... so that gives a very positive reinforcement to me :-)
That is both in their native tongue and in English.
In English, the German accent sounds sounds cute... In in German it sounds... Geil :-)
Hot German women should be seen and not heard :-)
(A forget the German part, lets go generic here :-D)
Hahahahahaha :-D
