Clearly, but I don't think that's relevant right now...

every LCD or especially plasma throws out much more heat than most CRTs

I guess all my TFTs must be super efficient and all my CRTs must be very inefficient... It does seem odd that the Laptop CRT never really took off give how little power they use and how cool running they are... :-?
