Well, you already have one by proxy... It's all these slackers who haven't even tried one that I'm disappointed with! :-D

I have. It just wasnt nice at all. What does it honestly offer that the competition does not in less space and weight?

I'm not entirely convinced we've used the same device! If we consider the N95 as a first generation device, then the iphone is a second generation device! I can't wait to see the third generation devices!

Actually the poor battery life and the fact that no one I've met has managed to get the GPS to work were what immediatelly put me off the N95 before I started looking at the iPhone. Now the web browser on the iPhone is a killer app, and it makes a great iPod too!

Ok, I guessed as much... Since I'm always using "maps" the upgrade to this is brilliant... The new gps feature is beautiful! Safari has also been improved + bug fixes, all good stuff :-) I think I'm gonna wait for the SDK in feb.

posting this from my iPhone!!  It rocks.  I am glad the price dropped down to $400.  I figured with all the $$ spent on Amiga hardware that's a fine price to pay for this awesome phone

Hey! You guys missed my iPhone question back there :bigcry:

"Is it possible to create a playlist for your music videos with the iPhone?"

Nope... Not as I can see... But it's not a feature I would want so I've never really looked for it.

I cant really see why you want that anyway...

Ok... I guess I'm gonna try this one... Just to confirm that it only jail breaks the phone... It does nothing to the radio or the network lock?

If you pass the -u parameter then it unlocks it. If you pass -a then it activates it. Simply passing the -j parameter just jailbreaks it and puts Installer.app on for you. It will not affect the baseband or unlock it.

Remember - my iPhone is locked to O2 the same as yours. I have not unlocked it, nor have I had any need to modify the baseband. I can confirm everything still works 100% after this process.

Also, the only changes this makes are in firmware. If it gets b0rked or you change your mind and want to go back, just do a restore in iTunes and it will go back to factory - i.e. no Jailbreak any more.

Well... I guess tonight is the night then! Oh... I'm a little nervous, it is my first time afterall...

What about the iPhone backups... I assume all the personal stuff, sms call lists etc... are saved?

Yes, everything will be exactly as it was before the Jailbreak. You won't lose anything.

Don't be too nervous - the first time is always the hardest. It will be over before you know it. In fact you'll probably wish it wasn't over so quickly, and you might even want to do it again. You'll definitely wonder why you waited so long. Hang on, what are we talking about? :-P
