Hi.
As the subject suggests, i am not sure about the effects of this option. Ok, from its name alone, it's pretty obvious that it reduces memory consumption. Of which memory though? I don't notice ANY difference in my fast-ram, thus i will have to assume that it reduces the consumption of the video ram of the gfx card.. or not? :-? (There is no way to measure the free video ram on CGFX)
Furthermore, saving memory is always a good thing. There's got to be a disadvantage to this option, because otherwise it would be enabled by default.
From the CyberGraphX.guide:
"CyberGraphX will reduce memory consumption in less or equal 16 colour modes, CyberGraphX keeps a planar representation of the screen bitmap in fast memory and a chunky representation in video memory."
(Edit: I suppose that by 16 colour modes, it means 16bit colour modes?)
Well, i don't really understand this . Could someone give me a simple explanation on what are the pros and cons?
