Problem with relokick and its custom ROM image.
« on: January 25, 2007, 03:31:09 PM »
I'm trying to run some old 1.3 software using ReloKick and i noticed this problem: When a disk loads a workbench screen (WorkBench 1.3 for example) and i try to double-click a volume, the volume window opens but the mouse pointer remains busy forever and the system stacks there. I have to reset after this.
This happens only if i use the custom ROM image that comes with Relokick which offers the ability to diable the  CPU caches and change PAL/NTSC. If i use an original 1.3 ROM, this problem doesn't occur but i lose the ability to disable the caches etc, and this doesn't help much to run old software.
Is there a solution to this?

 Thank you InTheSand!
I tried it and it works ok. There is one small problem though: Unlike Relokick, i can't make it to stay resident. I have to reload it in every reset. Is it possible to make it resident?

Good point - I only generally use it for a quick 1.3 session and then can't wait to get back to normality! Too much orange and blue is bad for the sanity!

  Yeah, me too :-D

But... back to the question... I don't think TUDE can be made to make KS1.3 reset-proof. But then again, it only takes a few seconds to load and boot into 1.3.

 Ok, thanks.
