no, no and NO! it doeznt work :)

i was trying NSDpatch - nothing, still cant format partition between 4-6gb

later mouning - not working  :)

loadv43module whatewer blah blah - nothing - still the same

:) its standard A1200 with 3.1 roms and 20gb drive, and i think its impossible without additional hardware :)

It IS POSSIBLE, I've tried this in my A1200 and A4000D with standard built-in IDE controler + PFS2/SFS + SCSI patch for Load V43 module.

Of course you won't see correct numbers (partition sizes) in HDToolBox from OS 3.0 or 3.1, so it is recommended to use HDInstTools and perform a QuickFormat on partitions above 4 GB, because Format from OS > 3.5 is not TD64 compatible.

On the output I can see you are using scsi.device 40.12
It is too old to use disks > 4 GB.
You wrote you're using the LoadV43Module but why you're scsi.device is still 40.12?
After patching (additional reset every time you turn on the Amiga) it should be e.g. v 43.23 or similar.

BTW: why don't you use OS 3.5 or 3.9?

second answer is simpliest: because i dont have 3.5 or 3.9 :( and i dont want to use illegal instalation

Well, the loadv43 itself can't patch anything, you must have a special .strip file for it, do you have it?

Second answer: Nowadays a second hand copy of OS 3.5 is really cheap and contains everything you need to use large harddisks.

How and where exactly do you start the loadv43?
Where did you put the a300.ld.strip and which version is it?
Do you use any tools like BlizzKick or RemApollo?
Does the loadv43 work if you turn on the Amiga and start it withput Startup-Sequence?

Recently I've started to use this scsiv43 patch with my A4000D, but because it has 3.0 ROMs the loadv43 can't patch anything so I tried other command from LoadModule.lha archive and it works.
I also patched the module from SCSI_IDE43_23.lha archive with a hack from patchstrip.lha archive to disable the recoverable alert notifying that it was a beta version and that it had expired.

A few years ago, before AmigaOS 3.5 was available, I also used this scsiv43 patch with my A1200 + 3.1 ROMs using the loadv43 and it worked fine.

About OS 3.5: you don't like it because of the price or is there another reason?

About IDEfix: it's rather old software and for the price of 50 EUR you can buy the FastATA or for 20-30 EUR a 4xEIDE adapter and forget about all the problems, but those solutions are really not necessary, because the built-in IDE controller + free scsiV43 patch + free SFS are good enough to handle large harddrives.

I don't get it, you wrote:

and now you're writing loadv43 works.

The .strip should be in SYS:DEVS, not in C:

I meant the .strip file version, and it's definitely not on the Aminet.

I never used NSD patch, maybe the scsiv43 patch and NSD patch can't work together?
Try the scsiv43 patch without the NSD patch first.

About OS 3.5: it is simple system. It includes some important solutions without need of third party patches like in the case of OS 3.1, so the system itself is more stable.
AFAIK it is not slower than OS 3.1, it just needs 68020 because some applications and libraries were optimized for this CPU.

I have one copy for sale (CD + jewel case + short introduction), and shipping to the Czech Republic is definitely not so expensive, even as regsitered letter.

check4gb says its patched

Could you please explain this. In your hardcopies it says "*" in the status column which means the partition does *not* work. It also says "N" and "S" which means the device suppports NSD and SCSI commands, but no TD64 commands. As PFS3 only supports TD64, the partition cannot work.

Check4GB also says the version of scsi.device is 40.12 which means it is original, not patched. So where does Check4GB say it is patched ? And what do you mean by "it" ?

Bye,
Thomas

Exactly, if the scsi.device were patched by loadv43, Check4GB should report it's version as e.g. 43.23

Maybe there's a mess after using NSD patch?

Today evening I'm going to patch the scsi.device using loadv43 and a300.ld.strip, then I'll run Check4GB and see what happens.

hmm maybe there is another problem with sequence patch>reboot>patched.
it does not perform any reboot i think

You should start the loadv43 as the very first line in the Startup-Sequence like this:

LoadV43Module >NIL: a300.ld.strip REBOOT

As I wrote before, I'll check this on my A1200 today evening.

The requester about BETA scsi.device?
If yes, use the patchstrip.lha from Aminet to disable this.

I've just send you the 43.23 version of the scsi patch.
It will work with the patchstrip without any problems :-)

I've sent it and one day later I received a message that your email provider doesn't accept attachments.

Do you have an alternate email address?
