Don't throw it away. At worst put it up for sale on ebay.
I bought an A1500 when my A2000 went kaput! It is exactly the same machine as the A2000 but comes fitted with 2 floppy drives and no hard drive as standard.
I was able to transfer the boards & HD from my faulty A2000 into the A1500, and all worked fine. The A1500/A2000 is a "bit of a tank" and is very upgradeable.
Mine now contains an PC Bridgeboard and MSDos HD, an amiga HD and works well.
