Wanted: A3000 power supply

Hey all,
   I am working on one of the last basket case 3000's i have and its short a psu. Does anyone in the USA have a dead or alive one they can spare? i would even take a empty 3000 psu case.
 i could also use a Harddrive drive sled and floppy sled if you have those too!

Until you track one down, Amigakit sells an ATX to A3000 adapter for cheap. I got one for my test bench.

 Thanks for this,but i am trying to complete a 3000 with the original psu, i just need the case mainly.

I actually stock all the parts to build the adapters and have the molex A3000 plugs and crimp pins.

No one out there in the usa has a battery eaten 3000 with a psu i can have? nothing out there?

Sorry to dredge up this old thread, but if it helps at all, I've just written this guide on converting the A3000 power supply between 240V and 120V input, i.e. between European and USA models.

I've not tried this personally, it's based on an Email conversation I had with genny_flick (Thylacine Mini developer) who has verified it.  I've written some user-friendly steps and a few photos.

Would be interesting to hear feedback from successful conversions.


The usual warnings apply for working on AC mains powered equipment; don't touch they hurty bits, don't open the power supply if you're not fully confident working with AC mains, etc.

I think i found a couple of errors in the text on your site.. you list the transistor as MJE130076,but i think it is supposed to be MJE13007G...the link to element14 on your page doesn't work for this.
They seem to have high prices,as this transistor state side is about 87 cents.
the bridge at element 14 is $10,but state side about $5~ i guess this is prob. normal.

I can make a deal with you if you can help me out.  

I'm trying desperately to bring my A3000 to life, but I think I have a bum Denise chip, the screen is all over the place and it affects the mouse even though I have a video card.

If you can help me source a 8373 ECS Denise chip, I will gift wrap this power supply and send it to you.  If I happen to finally find a Denise chip, I will still send this to you, but I'm desperate at the moment and I need me some leverage.  LOL

if you had been a week or so earlier.. just my luck. i soldered the last spare 8373 denise i had into the ICD flickerfree videoII for my A500 because the socket pins were loose. have nearly every other amiga chip as spares...

I will doublecheck again tonight when i get time.

It sounds more like the PAL's are the problem you are having.. if so a set can be had for $17 or so in the usa at nwamiga.com or from Anthony(Castellen) in NZ
