1 It looks like a $1 toy not any Commodore
2. It's as much a laptop as the SX64 (ie it has no batteries so it isn't a laptop at all just an all-in-one inc screen)

I have asked many times on various forums how the hell do you get the required negative voltages needed to run an Amiga/C64 motherboard to a deafening....silence lol

The battery section is one of the most critical elements to turn 80s tech into 2000s tech that uses batteries, he hasn't solved any problems a kid in shop class can't solve IMO.

If you give me a 3D printer I can make you a laptop that isn't a real laptop (ie like that) out of the 1200 and C64, as bought on ebay on a daily basis, by tomorrow, the rest of it is trivial to be honest.

(his other stuff is great but this mod he did is a complete let down and underwhelming electronically speaking IMO)

So basically you have done nothing, and proceed to criticize this guys hard work. I think he did a very nice job on it, who cares if its a true laptop, its much more portable than a sx64 that weighs in around 30+ lbs not to mention it has a bigger screen. Its what he wanted, he didn't built it to please you.
its a fairly clean hack in my opinion.

The only way to get around the 9vac problem is to use PWM to simulate a 9vac sine wave. This old 5v technology eats batteries especially when the sid and vicII are cranking.

so you claim you can build one like it in 2 days, go for it then we can scrutinize yours ;)
