When these (eventually) die of old age, will you be
replacing them with MorphOS/OS4 machines?

I dont mean to answer for amigakit here so i will answer for me ;) but no way! there are enough parts in the pipeline and spares around for another 20 years and when those are gone, some genius will come up with fpga/cpld replacement parts. always natami too i guess.
Old amiga's are robust, most the problems on ones i fixed are leaking caps, bad power supplies,connector/socket bad contact issues and battery damage.most people have gotten smart enough not to kill the cia's by shorting the ports etc.Sadly so many are easily fixable and get tosses in the bin. very few actual chip issues.there are some who insist on plugging a particular old gvp scsi card into z3 machines with a jumper set wrong and frying z3-usually a burned trace and or dead/or only works in z2 mode buster results.

Oh,almost forgot. I use a A4000/mediator/csppc with dual 32gb cf's on the scsi chain via acard adapters for a daily machine and all email from the shopping cart and other accounts is funneled thru yam.it runs 24/7 and has since around 94 when i got the original desktop 4000(obviously i've upgraded over the years from a warpengine/destop to csppc and tower etc).
